Mid-rise, Mixed use (Proposal)
This academic group project is located in an imaginary neighborhood created by the professors to house the entire year of studio exercises (trios of row houses, the residential building, an auditorium, and a school), with the building being the second project taking place in this region.
As a residential building, the needs stated for the project required a mid-rise structure with three types of apartment layouts (studio, 1-bed and 2-bed) with corresponding garage spaces, and also commercial spaces available on the ground floor for local small scale stores. The solution proposed organized the project from the concrete structure proposed, withprestressed concrete slabs with the hallways resting on top of ʻI' profile steel “French hands”embedded in the concrete structure.
